When the world is burning, we need beautiful things to look at.

Art, to me, is an external representation of the creation process. The process of making something out of nothing. It’s coming back to the table over and over again, getting better and learning new ways. The ride is different every time and art is a record of that ride.
When it comes to my own process, I can confidently say 90% of it is a miserable experience. My favorite parts are the beginning, when a surge of inspiration hits, and the ending, when the weight of obligation to the piece is lifted. Although the middle part is challenging, it’s also where a lot of cool things happen. I start with a rough idea of what I want to make but I have very little control over how it ends up materializing. The craft of embroidering tiny beads is painstaking on its own and I’m oftentimes in the dark about whether something is going to work out. However, I continue to show up. Why? I’m not sure. But, I trust the process.
This craft is a lifelong commitment to me so feel free to check back in later for updates. I’ll be here, making beautiful things for you to enjoy.Â
